November Morning Work 2nd Grade | Fall Math & Literacy Review + Daily Gratitude
Start each November morning with meaningful practice and a grateful heart! November Morning Work for 2nd Grade combines daily phonics, sentence editing, and math review with a simple gratitude reflection—all on one beautifully illustrated page.
Warm autumn leaves, charming woodland animals, and encouraging messages bring seasonal joy to a familiar classroom routine. 20 undated daily pages make it easy to use this resource year after year.
What’s included:
20 daily student pages
20 corresponding answer keys
Teacher guide with support and extension suggestions
Grade 2 TEKS guide identifying selected skills and partial standards coverage
Printable PDF with whimsical harvest and woodland artwork
Daily literacy practice:
Generate rhyming words
Complete word-family words
Identify long and short vowel sounds
Rewrite sentences using capitalization and punctuation
Daily math practice:
Add and subtract two-digit numbers within 100
Find missing addends and explore fact relationships
Practice addition and subtraction with regrouping
Solve addition and subtraction word problems
Draw clock hands for times at quarter-hour intervals
Math practice builds throughout the packet: The first five pages begin with computation without regrouping, followed by missing addends and fact relationships, addition with regrouping, and subtraction with regrouping. Introduce each skill before assigning it and provide manipulatives or drawings as needed.
A little gratitude every day: Each page invites students to finish “Today I am grateful for:” through writing, drawing and labeling, or dictation. This thoughtful check-in encourages children to notice the people, experiences, and small moments they appreciate.
Students also record calendar information, identify the weather and season, and complete a “Today I feel” check-in.
Easy to use: Print one page, allow approximately 15–20 minutes, and review selected activities together. Use for morning work, bell ringers, guided review, homeschool practice, or substitute plans.
Designed for second grade, with flexibility for advanced first graders or third graders who need foundational review.
TEKS connections: Includes selected practice connected to Grade 2 ELAR 2.2A(i), 2.2B(i), 2.2C(i), and 2.11D(i), (x); Math 2.4B, 2.4C, and 2.7C. Gratitude responses can support ELAR 2.11B(ii) when expanded with relevant details. Clock activities provide partial practice for Math 2.9G.
