My Commitment

Hi, I'm Kim Woodford, a Texas-certified teacher and the creator of Live Oak Learning. I want every teacher to be able to browse my site, shop my printable resources for grades 1–3, and enjoy the Lesson Lounge membership with ease, including teachers who use assistive technology. Accessibility is an ongoing effort for me, and I'm always working to improve.

Accessibility Standard

I aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as a goal for this site. I can't promise that every page or file fully meets these guidelines, but they guide the choices I make as I build and update the site.

What I Do

- Add descriptive alt text to meaningful images.

- Choose readable fonts, clear headings, and color combinations with good contrast.

- Rely on the Wix platform's built-in support for keyboard navigation and assistive technology.

- Design my printable PDFs with clean, uncluttered layouts, clear instructions, and easy-to-read text.

Known Limitations

Despite my best efforts, some parts of the experience may not be fully accessible:

- Printable PDFs: Many of my resources are designed for printing and may not be fully accessible to screen readers, especially worksheets, games, and pages with visual activities.

- Third-party platforms: The site is built on Wix, teacher merch is sold through Bonfire, and some resources are sold on Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT). I don't control the accessibility of those platforms, and their own accessibility practices apply.

Need Help or an Alternative Format?

If you have trouble using any part of the site or a resource, or if you'd like a resource in a different format, please email me at liveoaklearningtx@gmail.com. Let me know which page or resource you need and how I can help. I'll respond within a few business days and do my best to find a solution that works for you.

Thank you for helping me make Live Oak Learning a welcoming place for every teacher!
