Hi, and thank you for visiting Live Oak Learning! I'm Kim Woodford, a Texas-certified teacher based in Houston, Texas. I create printable digital resources for first, second, and third grade teachers. Throughout this policy, "Live Oak Learning," "I," "me," and "we" refer to Live Oak Learning and Kim Woodford, and "you" refers to anyone who visits or uses the site.

 

Your trust matters to me. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit www.liveoaklearning.org (the "Site"), buy a resource, join the Lesson Lounge membership, or sign up for my email list, and how that information is used and protected. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

 

1. Who This Site Is For

 

Live Oak Learning is designed for adult educators, including classroom teachers, homeschool educators, and tutors. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Although my resources are made for use with young students, children should not create accounts, make purchases, or submit their information on the Site. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact me at liveoaklearningtx@gmail.com and I will promptly delete it.

 

2. Information I Collect

 

Information you give me

 

Account information: When you create a site account or join the Lesson Lounge, you provide details such as your name, email address, and password. Passwords are handled by Wix and are not visible to me.

 

Purchase information: When you buy a printable resource or a membership, I receive details such as your name, email address, billing address, order details, and payment status. My teacher resources are digital downloads only, so nothing physical ships from me and no shipping address is needed. Card details are entered directly with the payment processor and are not stored by me (see Section 4).

 

Email signup information: When you sign up for my email list, including to receive the free All About Me activity book, I collect your email address and, if you choose to share it, your first name or other optional details such as the grade you teach.

 

Messages and comments: If you contact me, fill out a form, or comment on a blog post, I receive the information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, and your message.

 

Information collected automatically

 

Device and usage information: Like most websites, the Site automatically collects certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.

 

Cookies and similar technologies: The Site, Wix, and analytics tools use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how visitors use the Site. See Section 8 for more.

 

Analytics: The Site uses Wix's built-in site statistics to show me general patterns, such as which resources and blog posts are popular. This information is generally reported to me in summary form, and cookies may be used to collect these site statistics.

 

3. How I Use Your Information

 

I use the information I collect to:

 

process orders and deliver the digital PDF resources you buy;

 

create and manage your account and Lesson Lounge membership, including giving members access to downloads;

 

process recurring membership payments and send receipts and billing notices;

 

send the free All About Me activity book and, if you have subscribed, newsletters, teaching tips, new resource announcements, and occasional promotions;

 

respond to your questions, requests, and customer support needs;

 

operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and my resources;

 

understand how the Site is used so I can create content that is more helpful to teachers;

 

prevent fraud and protect the rights and safety of Live Oak Learning and its customers; and

 

comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

 

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

 

4. Payment Processing

 

All payments on the Site are processed through Wix Payments, Wix's payment service. When you pay, your card or payment details are submitted directly to Wix Payments, which handles them under its own security standards and privacy policy.

 

I do not see or store your full credit or debit card number. I may receive limited information from the payment provider, such as your name, email address, billing address, the last four digits of your card, and whether the payment was successful, so I can fulfill your order and provide customer support.

 

5. Lesson Lounge Membership: Recurring Billing and Cancellation

 

The Lesson Lounge is a paid monthly membership offered through Wix Pricing Plans. The monthly price depends on the plan you choose. Membership gives you access to download resources included in the Lesson Lounge while your membership is active.

Recurring billing: When you join, you authorize Live Oak Learning, through Wix Payments, to charge your chosen payment method the monthly price of your plan (plus any applicable taxes) each month on your renewal date until you cancel. Prices may change in the future; if they do, I will let you know in advance.

How to cancel: You can cancel at any time by signing in to your account on the Site, going to your member area (for example, "My Subscriptions" or "My Plans"), and choosing to cancel your plan. You can also email me at liveoaklearningtx@gmail.com and I will be happy to help.

 

What happens when you cancel: Cancellation stops future charges. You will keep access to the Lesson Lounge until the end of the month you have already paid for. Resources you already downloaded may continue to be used under the terms of use for those resources.

 

Membership data: To manage your membership, I keep records such as your plan, start and renewal dates, payment status, and download activity.

 

6. Email Marketing and How to Unsubscribe

 

If you sign up for my email list, including to receive the free All About Me activity book, you will receive emails from me about teaching ideas, new and featured resources, blog posts, and occasional sales. I send these emails using Wix email marketing tools or a similar email service provider, which may use standard technologies to tell me whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.

 

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing me at liveoaklearningtx@gmail.com. Even after you unsubscribe, I may still send you non-marketing messages about your purchases, account, or membership, such as receipts and billing notices.

 

7. Third Parties I Work With

 

I share information only as needed to run the Site and serve you, with the following kinds of partners:

 

Wix: The Site is built and hosted on Wix.com, which stores and processes site data, accounts, orders, Pricing Plans memberships, forms, blog comments, and email marketing on my behalf. Learn more in the Wix Privacy Policy at https://www.wix.com/about/privacy.

 

Wix Payments: Wix Payments processes all payments for orders and memberships on the Site under its own privacy policy.

 

Amazon Associates: Live Oak Learning is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an Amazon link on my Teacher Favorites page or elsewhere, Amazon may use cookies to track the referral. I do not receive your personal information from Amazon, and your activity on Amazon is governed by Amazon's privacy notice.

 

Analytics providers: Wix's built-in site statistics help me understand Site traffic and usage. Cookies may be used to collect these statistics.

 

Bonfire (teacher merch): My teacher merch is sold and fulfilled through Bonfire, a third-party platform. When you buy merch, you are taken to Bonfire, which handles the order, payment, and shipping under its own terms and privacy policy, available at https://www.bonfire.com/privacy/. I do not process merch payments or ship merch myself.

 

Teachers Pay Teachers: I also sell resources on Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT). Purchases made on TpT are handled by TpT under its own terms and privacy policy, and TpT shares only limited information with sellers.

 

Legal and safety reasons: I may disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect my rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

 

Links to other websites, including Amazon, Teachers Pay Teachers, and social media, are provided for your convenience. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please review their policies.

 

8. Cookies

 

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Site uses:

 

Essential cookies that make the Site work, such as keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, and supporting secure checkout;

 

Analytics cookies that help me understand how visitors use the Site; and

 

Third-party cookies, such as those set by Amazon when you click an affiliate link, or by embedded content and social sharing tools.

 

You can manage cookies through the Site's cookie banner (where shown) and through your browser settings, which let you block or delete cookies. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works, for example signing in or checking out. 9. How Long I Keep Information

 

I keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including:

 

account and membership information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable time afterward in case you return or need help;

 

order, payment, and tax records for as long as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes (often several years);

 

email list information until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it; and

 

analytics information in accordance with the retention settings of the analytics provider.

 

When information is no longer needed, I delete it or make it anonymous.

 

10. Your Rights and Choices

 

You may contact me at any time to:

 

ask what personal information I have about you;

 

update or correct your information (you can also do much of this in your Site account);

 

ask me to delete your information, subject to records I must keep for legal, tax, or legitimate business reasons;

 

unsubscribe from marketing emails; or

 

cancel your Lesson Lounge membership.

 

US state privacy rights

 

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws (for example, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and other states) may give you additional rights, such as the right to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, to receive a copy of your information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. Some of these laws apply only to businesses that meet certain size or volume thresholds. Regardless of whether a specific law applies, I aim to honor reasonable privacy requests from all users.

 

I do not sell personal information. To make a request, email liveoaklearningtx@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." I may need to verify your identity before responding, and I will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. If I deny your request, you may reply to ask me to reconsider.

 

If you are visiting from outside the United States, please note that your information will be processed in the United States and in other countries where Wix and its service providers operate.

 

11. How I Protect Your Information

 

I take reasonable steps to protect your information. The Site uses secure (HTTPS) connections, payments are handled by Wix Payments, and Wix provides industry-standard security for site data. I limit access to customer information to what I need to run the business. Please help protect your account by using a strong, unique password and keeping it private. No website or online service can be 100% secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

12. Changes to This Policy

 

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, my resources, or the law. When I do, I will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are significant, I may also let you know by email or with a notice on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
